For some applications, you can adhere MDF to the back of the DIbond, using different thicknesses of MDF depending on the distance from the wall you want to mount the giclées.

In our testing, we've always stuck with the hanging system we mount on the back of the Dibond - the cleats ensure a good grab to the Dibond. The MDF blocks would have to be mounted to the back using an adhesive, and we never found any adhesion was strong enough to with-stand the test of time given the weight of the Dibond.

Hi Derek,

It's us again. Question : Where could we find different way to mount Dibond giclée on wall? We would like a space between wall and Dibond in order to have a floating effect. Call us or write us!

Thanks.

Dibond is an excellent way to exhibit your work - it will certainly draw a lot of attention at the show.

Hi Derek,

Little while ago you talked about Dibond. A rigid mounting solution. We would like to talk to you about this avenue for my new series of Art. I'll be exibiting Oct 1--3 2010 at the Home & Design Show in Ottawa. Faiz and I would be contacting you some time this week for more information about pricing, ordering a sample. Talk to you soon.

Derek - Great post/article. We are also a firm that produces fine art reproduction. I thought your article really hit the nail on the head in regards to anyone with a printer and a camera considers themselves capable of producing a fine art print, and your point that 'close enough'. is not acceptable. Best of luck and thanks.
